About Marissa

Compassionate, Reflective, and Tailored Support

I am Marissa Huang (she/her), a Marriage and Family Therapy Trainee born and raised in San Francisco. I carry a deep appreciation for the city’s cultural diversity and the experiences of those who navigate life within its vibrant and evolving landscape. As a dedicated trainee in psychotherapy, I integrate my academic training, personal growth, and cultural heritage to support clients in their unique journeys.

I bring an existential-humanistic and relational lens to therapy, meaning I focus on fostering authentic connections and helping you explore what it means to live a meaningful and fulfilling life. Incorporating solution-focused therapy allows us to work toward actionable steps that complement reflective and somatic practices. This balance of practical tools and deeper exploration creates a comprehensive and empowering therapeutic experience. I strive to provide bespoke, tailored support to each person, ensuring that your therapy experience meets your specific needs and circumstances.

Rooted in my own journey of transformation, I draw from frameworks such as Traditional Chinese Medicine, which is deeply connected to my cultural heritage, blending principles of balance and harmony into my practice. Additionally, I incorporate creative practices such as floral arts and artistic expression as tools for reflection and healing. While not a formal art therapist, my background in creative endeavors allows me to guide clients in symbolic and meditative practices that nurture emotional balance and connection. I hold an M.A. in Counseling Psychology with a focus on Integral Counseling and am a Post-Graduate MFT Trainee practicing under supervision.
